The Carewise care fees advisers offer a service to carry out an affordability check for potential residents of all residential and nursing care home providers. This benefits the care home and the resident by giving both parties an indication of the length of time the care fees can be paid for.
What happens in an affordability check?
The affordability check is carried out by one of the Carewise care fees advisers. If it is agreed between the care home and the potential resident that an affordability check will be carried out, the care home should contact one of the Carewise care fees advisers. The care fees adviser will then contact the potential resident and arrange a time to find out key information about their financial situation.
The adviser will produce a brief report for the care provider, indicating how long the person will be able to afford to pay the care fees, based on the affordability check.
How much will the service cost?
The affordability check service costs £165 (including VAT where applicable). Payment arrangements are agreed between individual providers and the care fees specialists.
How do I arrange an affordability check?
To organise an affordability check or to find out more, please contact one of the care fees advisers.
